Step 1

2-Hour Consult with Dr. Singla

The

Process

before

Before your visit, Dr. Singla carefully reviews your child's medical records, including notes from their primary care provider and any specialists they’ve seen—especially previous rheumatology evaluation and testing.

during

In addition to a  review of their diagnosis, clinical course, and medications, Dr. Singla takes a deep dive into your child's current symptoms, and performs a thorough physical exam. She also reviews your child's nutrition patterns, exercise, sleep, stress, emotional/self-regulation abilities, and social support. â€‹â€‹

Auricular acupressure is applied as indicated (if desired).

Dr. Singla reviews the diagnosis and expectations of your child's illness as well as potential complications and side-effects associated with their diagnosis and medications.

After discussion of the diagnosis and treatment goals, a customized Game Plan is crafted blending conventional and complementary therapies. Don't worry, we won't make you do this alone (see Step 2)!

Labs are collected in the office using pain reduction techniques including numbing cream, ice, the Buzzy Bee, breathing techniques, and aromatherapy based on individual needs. Labs are billed to your insurance company. If you don't have insurance, we have discounted cash pricing as well.

Orders for appropriate imaging, medications, and referrals are placed.

after

Dr. Singla communicates your child's diagnosis and plan of care with their primary care provider and specialist(s).

Dr. Singla calls you about 2 weeks after the initial consult to discuss lab/imaging results and adjusts the Game Plan/Roadmap as needed. Additional questions are also addressed at this time.

Step 2
Implementing the Roadmap to Remission with a "Rheum-mate"

The treatment plan and overall goals will be mapped out using a customized Roadmap. It will differ from individual to individual, but may include various elements such as:

  • Starting disease or symptom specific medications and supplements

  • Incorporating movement, exercise, physical therapy, or occupational therapy

  • Working with our nutritionist to determine the right calorie and macronutrient balance based on your child's lifestyle and condition.

  • Partnering with our nurse to explore breathwork techniques, meditation, Reiki, or Multi-Vibrational Therapy (MVT).

To help you implement your child's Roadmap, you work with our "Rheum-mate," or integrative health coach, who works with you and your family to provide practical, customized solutions to fit your unique lifestyle, challenges, and schedule. This may include getting guidance on:

  • How to adjust your child (and family's) diet

  • Meal planning and preparation strategies to reduce flare-ups

  • Finding the best way to give them supplements

  • Managing injection anxiety

  • Creating calming nighttime routines

The Roadmap concludes with a follow up visit with Dr. Singla to assess your child's progress and make any necessary adjustments to their treatment plan.

Step 3
